It’s almost impossible to express the admiration that Richard Timperio is held in by the Williamsburg and the extended community. An unapologetic “Old-School” lover of New York abstraction, he’s debuted numbers on young artists, given mid career artists on the outs a second chance and included some of the stalwarts (people in their 70s and 80s) in his famous Christmas shows. May not be “Blue Chip” but makes up for a lot with pure heart. Sideshow’s openings might be a bit “mature” but their are always rockin’.
I think the Sideshow is a breadth of fresh air, as is its director Richard Timperio.
