These are some of the nastiest little dealers I have had the displeasure of dealing with. I love most of the people from Bard but not Pascal.

They used to be darlings and are just jaded I think now. They have way too many artists that they hawk incessantly.

Pascal is a kind and gracious dealer. He always takes time out to talk to me about his shows, even though I've yet to purchase anything from him. He is also very friendly socially, always making a point to say hello when he sees me out and about.

I have always found the gallery to be a very warm environment, and a nice reprieve from the Chelsea environment. Pascal is often generous with his time and conversation. I think this is due in large part to his time spent cultivating a small-town, community-minded gallery in Vermont (see links above).

I have witnessed first-hand the challenges of a city-sponsored gallery - Pascal navigated these challenges well and somehow managed to remain focused on locating and supporting quality art despite the politics involved.

As a colleague now in New York, he has always been available to offer insight, advice, and help anytime that I've asked. I keep a close eye on the gallery's program and I always find it rigorous and challenging.

Taxter and Spengemann is a GREAT gallery. Despite it's youth Kelly and Pascal managed to put together a killer program of mostly unknown artists many of whom have risen to prominence through their efforts. Also, I would just like to say that Pascal is a very nice guy and Kelly is the kind of person who would drive two hours to do a favor for a well-known fuck-up such as myself with no recompense in sight. I knew it was going to be great as soon as they opened, and it was. I know a few of their artists personally, and all of them seem very satisfied with the job done by their dealers.

Deal with Pascal, not Kelly.
