i met omar at a bar with a stranger i had no business being with. we talked about art and discovered that we knew quite a few artists in common. we talked for hours. he advised me to ditch the drifter, and we continued to talk about art until the sun came up. he has amazing intellectual stamina and a good heart.
Omar RULES. Great thinker and a excellent study on what is good and what is not. He gets lost in the shuffle of curators. But he stands alone when it comes to good curating. Your great Omar.
Was great when he curated me in a show but has since treated me like I have a disease whenever I see him at openings. The people who say he's great... Bet you are all men.
Omar is a top notch curator, smart and funny and I have enjoyed every experience I have ever had working with him. I'm sorry to the one person who had something not so nice to say about Omar, I highly doubt he would ever intentionally disregard or disrespect anyone! This is an amazing curator!! 4 stars from an artist who knows
Am lady not dude. Omar is a sheer pleasure to work with or hang. Authentic, smart, warm, really knows his stuff, he's for real. And man is he generous when he supports you or your cause. Classy guy, one of the very few left in the art world with cultural integrity. Cannot praise enough for remaining a mensch in an ocean of creeps.
Omar has had really interesting shows and is very calm and patient to work with. He is very energetic and interested during studio visits. However, I think he had too many projects going on, because he did very little for our group show (he was contacted & hired). It was disorganized, it was hard getting decisions from him, got a very generic press release, not all of the work was even opened or at the gallery when he started hanging. He even asked for a 25% increase in payment because he was asked to rewrite the press release. Wished he was more into us.

Omar is great! Knows his stuff, and I hope he continues to put together great shows.
Very nice man, does a lot of shows with young artists, wears bad shoes.

Omar's a good guy but his shows of late have been overinstalled clusterfucks.
