Lets give the honour of the first mention to FRED. The gallery is still in business despite half it's artists leaving without getting paid. But that is FRED's business strategy : don't pay the artists, and thus stay in business. Easy.
Raven Row is a standup gallery. I sent an email inquiring about the Ray Johnson show and they posted me a catalog to my apartment in NYC, gratis with a handwritten note on a postcard. That got my vote.
Rat Fink searching for Scuz Finks, Gold Finks.
Artists: Please share your positive/negative experiences with critics, curators, and galleries.

That seems to be the way, you are supposed to not complain in case as an artist you are deemed to be difficult.
