Martha Henry is no longer associated with this gallery. However, she is the rare art dealer who is in the business simply for the love of art. I know her both professionally and personally and have witnessed her dive head first into projects because she believes in them or the artist involved despite the fact that it is almost certainly guaranteed that she will not make any money. From an artist's perspective, you can't ask for a more supportive dealer. Plus, she is a pleasure to work with. I do not know the other woman who was running Slate with Martha (and I believe still has the space), but I always got the impression that the business was more about promoting her husbands sculptures than anything else.

Martha is awesome- a cool woman who knows her stuff. Yes, it is "wackyly disorganized" but they are sincere and genuinely interested.
