He's a friendly person.
Great staff too.

super charming, ultra smooth, and five star lifestyle with three galleries in New York, and Mexico. Big time big money high roller, unfortunately, is waayyy past his prime. great artists have left him, lawsuits up the wazoo, serious fiscal troubles, pays employees late (sometimes for months) and in the end he wins and the artists, employees and sometimes clients lose big. ALL artists should stay away, seriously.

I've run into similar complaints as the last post. An artist I know in Brooklyn is still owed from the '80s. Sad. Though, I really love Laura Anderson Barbata's art. Anyone who supports her gets at least a half-thumbs-up from me. Hopefully he supports her!

Great location.
Ramis owns several spaces (Mexico, NY, London) with Ramis Barquet gallery and Sebastian+Barquet (design), so he is pretty busy!
Ramis is truly nice and genuine. He is very passionate and loves art. He is not pretentious, great humor, great energy, very good eye.
He supports his artists for a long term, and has a great relationship with his staff.
Make them sign consignment documents and be clear about everything to avoid misunderstandings and you will be fine.
