If not the best advisor I've dealt with, certainly one of the best. Very smart, lots of experience, and super serious. Usually knows as much about the work as those in the gallery, and very clear and honest regarding business. Also very market savvy. Treats all gallery employees kindly. One of the few advisors we really like to see in the gallery.
Have had repeatedly great experiences with him - works with a very small, very serious, and very high net worth clientele, usually very long term. He basically has a photographic memory, and remembers every piece you've ever offered him by an artist, the price, the date, etc., along with every other piece by that same artist ever to come up at auction, or to be offered to him privately (which is amazing, but can sometimes drive you crazy - but in a good way!). Regardless, always happy to see him coming in the gallery. Also, just a really nice person.
Just did a major deal with him for the first time (and in this market, too!). Massively knowledgable. Has the ability to access amazing work that no one else seems to be able to get their hands on. Prides himself on transparency and integrity, and I completely agree. As a side note - a very cool person to hang out with, knows everyone, and everyone seems to genuinely like him.
Known him a pretty long time. Not a schillster type at all (and doesn't need to, either). I think this is a case where your alert is wrong - T is one of the good guys.
he's worked with one guy for the last few years, and has 6 positive comments. i don't think he has even worked with 6 people! "Cares as much (or more) about the education of his clientele as he does about simply closing big deals for them." yeah right. then why is he an art dealer instead of a school teacher. come on. I don't know him, have nothing to say about him but the level of shill on this post is stupid.
Todd's insights from FB. Jeez...this is deep. So down to earth.
Weights. Breakfast at beloved ACE (grapefruit juice; greek yogurt w/macerated fruit, pistachio praline + honey; green tea + lemon). Meet w/accountant. Order flowers for Mother’s Day (don’t forget Mom!). Lunch Grand Central Oyster Bar w/Lela Csaky, Art Dubai programming czar, discuss how to improve the fair (dozen kumam...otos, lobster salad). Tonight Richard Phillips opens at Swiss Institute + dinner/party at The Smile.
Ummm, so he works out, eats a healthy breakfast, is fiscally prudent, loves his mother, is involved in the art world, and attends friend's openings. What idiot posted the facebook text directly above? Is that what this blog is now reduced to? Stupid people posting other people's private facebook entries?
Todd is as good as it gets. I do not know the term "shill" but it does not sound positive. I know most of you are totally jaded because you work with so many shady jerks, but there are some nice honest transparent people out there, perhaps the minority, and TL leads the pack. Take note, and follow suit.
I've had the very great privilege to have been advised by Todd on many occasions, for absolutely free, just because he was interested in commenting on my subject. He's savvy, direct and honest.
Sorry if he brings out the best in his commentors, folks, but this guy's a gem.
Rat Fink searching for Scuz Finks, Gold Finks.

shill alert. These are all written in the same tone. overly positive in an odd way.
Agreed.

Like him lots. Cares as much (or more) about the education of his clientele as he does about simply closing big deals for them.

No such thing as a private facebook message.
