I got paid but it took 6 months and the gallery staff made me feel like an asshole for wanting my check. This was about 4 years ago. I haven't been there in years but it doesn't seem like he's put much energy into maintaining an interesting program.
The accountant runs the show. Daniel is out to lunch and worries most about getting his prescriptions filled then paying his artists or anything else. Fuck him.
Zach Feuer seeks investor to float gallery now that Dana Schutz has left the gallery. He is in the process of subleting part of the new gallery to keep doors open.
Maybe it was just me but he would never look me in the eye or deal with me directly if he could go through my male friends.. even while I was installing my show.
After leaving the gallery I spent 5 YEARS trying to get the rest of my work out of storage. still haven't gotten it all. (told me it would be too expensive to ship a couple flat unframed 2D pieces. OK..)
Daniel is not a bad guy and Im sure he has matured a bit over the years but I do think (as others have mentioned) his accountants and to some extent (boy) assistants run his business.
The London Artist David Harrison held an Exhibition at the Daniel Reich Gallery in 2008. David was never paid, and Reich still owes him thousands of pounds! How can these Carpetbaggers get away with doing tese type of things to Brilliant Artists like Harrison, who can ill afford the loss!
I have receved a communication from the Artist David Harrison who would like me to point out, that the principle of being ripped off by a little Weasel like Daniel Reich, far outways the fact that he also lost a substantial amount of money!

I cant believe no one has commented on how hard it is to squeeze money out of this guy. Is everyone just afraid of him? This is common knowledge.
To: new young(mostly boy) artists
Beware of not getting paid!
But, at least you'll have a show to put on your resume.
It's very hard to get paid. You basically need to threaten to leave. But it has gotten better recently, somehow...
How do I get them to stop cluster bombing me with emails?
Don't expect to ever get payment for anything or for this gallery to be around much longer....
You will not get paid..
I never got paid or thanked by Daniel Reich gallery.
Terrible place.

Owes all of his artists, but owes Hernan Bas hundreds of thousands especially...
Daniel needs to pay his artists period.
The year is 2010 and the recession is still in session. The worst since 1930s. Personally, my experiences have yielded none of these such results.
Please, make note that Daniel Reich Gallery has made some really great shows.
There is one ability to post something Anonymously than to stand with integrity to which ever is your experience.
