I am an artist represented by LaViolaBank Gallery. So far my experience has been extremely positive. It is a new space that openend in September of 2008, but they were able to quickly find collectors interested in my work. Allegra is efficient in every aspect of the business in overall organization, shipping, contracts, and on-time payment of sold works. She has been a real pleasure to work with.
I showed there recently. Her consignment form is a dream! So professional and respectful of artists. Unfortunately nothing sold so I can't talk about timing of payments but in every other respect this was a good experience.
Allegra is trying to be a good gallerist, but sadly does not deliver on promises.
Artists who left after her split with her former business partner are still waiting for payment a year later. Works are being returned broken and with no or little insurance. Following that there has been no corporation from Allegra in terms of compensation. Some works are not even being returned. This has left a lot of people with a lot of problems which she refuses to deal with.
Please take responsibility.
